November 7, 2023 - The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office today announced the arrest of one of the Department of Medical Examiner’s investigators for grand theft.
“The Department of Medical Examiner takes these allegations very seriously and is assisting law enforcement and the DA’s Office in the on-going investigation,” said Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Odey Ukpo. “Regardless of the outcome of this investigation, we rely on the trust of the community to serve them, and this has undoubtedly been shaken by the announcement of this news. Our focus and priority continue to be providing quality death investigation for our grieving community members and are disappointed this news creates a distraction to the great work our staff does each day.”
