July 13, 2023 - The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner determined the cause of death for the 40-year-old former NFL player Stanley Tobias Wilson, Jr. as pulmonary thromboembolism. The manner of death is natural.
On February 1, Mr. Wilson was in a pre-screen area at the Metropolitan State Hospital when he fell out of his chair and became unresponsive shortly afterwards. Firefighters responded and began CPR before death was officially pronounced at the scene at 1027 hours.
On February 4, the deputy medical examiner completed an examination of Mr. Wilson at the Department’s Forensic Science Center. Following the completion and receipt of relevant test results, the cause of death was certified on July 13.
